Figure 1. Solidat measurement and control portfolio for the oil & gas industry - level, flow, pressure, temperature and analytical instruments
One Portfolio, From the Wellhead to the Long-Distance Pipeline
Oil and gas production never stops, and neither can its instrumentation. Wellheads run at high pressure and high temperature; separators demand reliable oil–water interface control; storage tanks require custody-transfer grade gauging; long-distance pipelines need non-invasive flow measurement; and refineries depend on continuous combustion and effluent analysis. Solidat supplies the complete measurement chain - level, flow, pressure, temperature and analytical instruments - engineered for these demanding conditions.
On August 29, 2026, Solidat officially launched its Oil & Gas Industry Product Solution in Xi'an, China, alongside the industry exchange meeting on the oil & gas high-speed fieldbus standard AUTBUS, in which Solidat participated as a principal drafter. The full story is available on the Solidat official news page This article walks through the portfolio, the applications and the field-proven results behind it.
Solidat Applied Technologies is headquartered in Zhuhai, Guangdong, with a production base in Shangrao, Jiangxi. Its instruments are exported to more than 50 countries and are widely used in oil & gas, petrochemical, electric power, water treatment and mining industries.
Upstream: Wellheads, Separators and Gathering Stations

Level measurement at the production facility
Production separators, heater-treaters, gun barrels, surge drums and torch gas-liquid separation tanks all share the same requirement: dependable level and interface measurement under pressure, temperature, foam and vapor. Solidat answers with non-contact radar, guided wave radar and local indication technologies:
- The SLDL5100 SoltaFMScan 80 GHz FMCW radar level meteruses a narrow 3° beam for strong anti-interference performance in tanks with internal obstructions, with a measurement range up to 30 m.
- The SLDL5200 SoltaScan W 76–81 GHz radar family and the 26 GHz pulse radar (SLDL5220 series) cover large crude and refined-product storage tanks, offering a cost-effective choice for simple operating conditions.
- FlexScan guided wave radars, including the SLDL5525 with saturated-steam compensation and the SLDL5524 high-temperature cable probe, handle high-temperature/high-pressure vessels, stilling wells and oil–water interface measurement; servo-type and guided wave radars reach ±0.1 mm accuracy for custody transfer.
- For cryogenic service, soft-cable 3300 mm waveguide radars are applied in LNG/LPG storage down to −196 °C, cutting annual maintenance costs per tank. Magnetic level gauges provide reliable on-site local indication.

Pressure and temperature at the wellhead
The SLDP3351 smart pressure transmitter family offers accuracy up to 0.02 %, a measuring range from −101 kPa to 67 MPa, process temperatures from −40 °C to 345 °C and 100:1 turndown, with response time as fast as 100 ms. Wetted diaphragms are available in 316L, Hastelloy C, tantalum, Monel and gold-plated versions for sour service and corrosion resistance. The direct-mount SLDP3351-AP configuration is widely used on Christmas trees, casing and tubing pressure monitoring, as documented in the Tahe (Yakela) and Tazhong (Yingmaili) oil & gas fields.
Temperature coverage runs from single-point SLDT248/644 transmitters (PT100/RTD and thermocouple inputs, 4–20 mA/HART) to the SLDT848T eight-channel transmitter and the SLDT3144P multivariable transmitter with dual-sensor thermal backup and drift alarm, including multi-point average temperature systems for storage tanks.

Point-level protection and flow at the well pad
- The SLDL5400 RadioDetect 24 GHz microwave level switch penetrates dust, condensate and vapor for high-high/low-low alarm duties.
- The SLDL1610 vibrating rod level switch protects pump intakes and detects granular and powder materials.
- The SLDF7110 MagFlow electromagnetic flowmeter meters water-injection and produced-water flows (0.5 % accuracy, 100:1 turndown, 316L/Hastelloy/titanium electrodes, 4–20 mA + RS485 Modbus/HART).
- Choke and production valves are automated with the ELM050 electric actuator series.

Custody-transfer tank gauging
Large crude oil and refined-product tanks combine high-frequency radar level, multi-point average temperature and pressure measurement for inventory and custody transfer. Solidat metrology-grade radars provide dedicated LNG antenna designs with top-to-bottom measurement and in-service verification, while wireless adapters and 3300 mm waveguide radars bring tank farm inventory data directly into the SCADA system.

Ultrasonic flow measurement: no pipe cutting, no pressure loss
Solidat ultrasonic flowmeters use the transit-time difference principle: no moving parts, no contact with the medium, no pressure loss, and clamp-on installation without production shutdown - making them ideal for retrofit and custody measurement on large-diameter crude and product pipelines.

Hot vessels, steam drums and interface measurement
- In high-temperature lubricating oil and hot-oil vessels, the SLDL5525 steam-compensation guided wave radar corrects saturated-steam interference in real time.
- Boiler steam drums in power generation and waste-heat recovery use the SLDL3600 DiamondDetect electric contact level gauge, rated up to 275 bar at 450 °C.
- High-temperature/high-pressure and anti-corrosion radar variants serve distillation columns, reactors and sour-water strippers.
Gas analysis and turnkey analyzer shelters
Combustion efficiency and environmental compliance depend on continuous gas analysis. Solidat supplies the SLDA9310 zirconia oxygen analyzer for flue-gas O₂ monitoring in process heaters and boilers, and the SLDA2100 sulfuric-acid dew-point analyzer for air-preheater corrosion protection. The broader gas-analysis portfolio covers NDIR infrared analyzers (CO, CO₂, CH₄, NH₃, SO₂, NOₓ), trace and high-purity oxygen analyzers, thermal-conductivity hydrogen analyzers, aluminum-oxide capacitance dew-point meters, and fixed/portable gas detectors for H₂S, combustible gas (LEL), O₂, CO, Cl₂ and NH₃ - delivered as turnkey explosion-proof analyzer shelters.
Each shelter integrates sampling probe, sample preprocessing, analyzer unit, alarm control and automatic calibration, with maintenance intervals of 90 days or longer, Ex d II CT6 protection and 4–20 mA / RS485 outputs into the DCS.

Figure 11. Online gas analysis integrated system - turnkey analyzer shelter for refinery and gas-processing applications
Refinery wastewater: 24/7 unattended compliance
Effluent treatment combines electromagnetic flowmeters with online water-quality analyzers: the SLDW5110 UV-C online COD analyzer, W1123 digital pH sensor, SLDW3510 LDO luminescent dissolved-oxygen analyzer, W1513 digital conductivity analyzer, SLDW3310 MLSS suspended-solids analyzer and the SLDW7120 SPE spectral multi-parameter analyzer (COD, ammonia nitrogen, total phosphorus, total nitrogen).
At a large refinery wastewater treatment plant, this suite enabled round-the-clock unattended monitoring: the effluent discharge compliance rate improved from 92 % to 99.5 %, saving more than RMB 800,000 per year in manual inspection costs.
Bulk-Solids Inventory: 3D Radar Volume Scanning
Refineries and gas-processing plants also store catalysts, sulfur granules, sand and fly ash. The SLDL53 / SLDL5300 3D radar volume scanner (120–140 GHz) builds a real-time point-cloud surface model and computes volume and mass instead of a single level point. For large square silos and coal bunkers, the SLDL5360 3D multi-point scanning radar coordinates up to 255 sensors into one inventory model - accurate stockpile management without climbing silos.
AUTBUS: The High-Speed Fieldbus Built for Oil & Gas
Solidat is a principal drafter of the national technical specification for the oil & gas site high-speed fieldbus, built on AUTBUS (IEC 61158 Type 28 / IEC 61784 CPF 22). At each station, level, pressure, flow and temperature instruments share one two-wire bus carrying both power and data to the fiber-optic backbone and central SCADA.
100 Mbps communication over 500 m, up to 254 nodes, 40 μs deterministic response and bit error rate ≤ 10⁻¹¹.
Transparent compatibility with Modbus, HART, PROFIBUS, CAN, Ethernet and PROFINET; redundant master and ring topology for large stations.
Field cabling reduced by about 60 %, construction cost by about 25 %, overall automation cost by 30–40 %, with payback in 1–2 years.
