In-depth Analysis Of Liquid Level Meter: From Radar To Float, Everything You Need To Know
Jul 30, 2024| When choosing a liquid level meter, you are often confused because you don't know where to start because you don't know the various options. This situation also exists in the selection of liquid level meters. Some purchasers don't even know the types of liquid level meters. In view of this situation, the author briefly summarizes some major liquid level meters, hoping to help you choose a liquid level measurement method.

1. Radar liquid level meter, which is developed and manufactured based on the time travel principle. It mainly uses the reflection of microwaves on the measured liquid level to measure the distance of the liquid surface by measuring the travel time from emission to reflected echo. At present, this liquid level measurement method has the widest range of use and relatively accurate measurement. It has gradually become the core force of the liquid level measurement market.
2. Ultrasonic liquid level meter, its research and development principle is similar to that of radar liquid level meter, and it is also developed based on the time travel principle. The only difference is that the microwave emitted by the radar liquid level meter is an electromagnetic wave, while the ultrasonic wave emitted by the ultrasonic liquid level meter is a mechanical wave. The measurement accuracy of ultrasonic level meter is also high, but it is subject to many limiting factors, such as high temperature environment, installation environment, etc.
3. Magnetostrictive level gauge uses magnetostrictive technology to measure liquid level. It mainly measures the liquid level by calculating the time difference between the transmitted signal and the echo signal. This measurement method has good accuracy and stability, but according to relevant records, this method cannot be transmitted over long distances and is not suitable for the measurement of corrosive liquids.
4. Capacitive level meter mainly calculates the liquid level by obtaining the capacitance and dielectric constant of the medium. This method is suitable for the measurement of corrosive liquid level and the measurement of high temperature and high pressure liquid, but the measurement will be affected by the dielectric constant of the measured liquid.
5. Servo level gauge, it drives the float in some way to calculate the liquid level. This measurement method is relatively simple to install and the measurement accuracy is also acceptable, but the price is more expensive than the general level meter.
6. Differential pressure level meter calculates the height of the measured liquid by sensing the pressure difference. This measurement method has poor accuracy and reliability and is also sensitive to temperature changes. Therefore, with the development of technology, this measurement method does not dominate.
7. Float-type level gauge, which measures the liquid level by the difference in buoyancy. This measurement method is not very accurate and has certain requirements for working conditions, but it is low in cost and is less affected by temperature and pressure.
The above are the main methods of liquid level measurement. The content is relatively simple, but it is all basic content, so friends with needs can start from the basics.
