The ramming coke oven is a large-scale equipment widely used in the coal chemical industry, which mainly uses the ramming method for the coking process. During the production process, there are a variety of product storage tanks, production storage tanks and underground tanks distributed in the ramming coke oven, and the accuracy of the liquid level measurement of these equipment directly affects the reliable operation of the equipment.

In order to accurately monitor the level changes of the liquid in the tank and detect leakage, many coal chemical enterprises install radar level meters in the relevant tanks in the production area. However, in the cold winter season, the application of coke oven radar level meters requires special attention to the following points.

1. The low temperature in winter will cause the measured liquid medium to solidify or crystallize easily, which may affect the accurate measurement of the coke oven radar level meter. Although the radar level measurement is not affected by water vapor in the atmosphere, crystallization under extreme temperatures may cause inaccurate measurements.

2. Each coke oven radar level meter has its operating critical points of temperature and pressure. When the working conditions are close to or exceed these critical points, the measurement accuracy of the instrument may be affected, and even some components may be damaged due to freezing.

In order to deal with these problems, it is recommended to install electric heating cables or use insulation materials near the coke oven radar level meter wires to prevent the parts or components of the instrument that are prone to freezing from being affected by cold weather. In addition, it is possible to consider installing heaters around the liquid medium in the tank to ensure that the liquid maintains a suitable temperature, thereby ensuring the measurement accuracy of the storage tank radar level meter and the normal operation of the equipment.
