What Should I Do If The Signal Of The Ultrasonic Flowmeter Is Too Weak?
May 19, 2023| Ultrasonic flowmeters can generally operate normally for a long period of time without maintenance after installation, and then require maintenance and daily inspections. No signal reception or weak signal are minor problems. So don’t be surprised if it happens, just do the following steps carefully and you will be able to solve it easily.
1. First confirm whether the pipe is full of fluid.
2. If the pipe is too close to the wall, the probe can be installed on the diameter of the pipe with an inclined angle instead of on the diameter of the horizontal pipe. The Z method should be used to install the probe.
3. Carefully select the dense part of the pipeline and fully polish it, apply sufficient coupling agent and install the probe.
4. Carefully move each probe slowly near the installation point to find the maximum signal point, so as to prevent the ultrasonic beam from reflecting off the expected area due to the scaling on the inner wall of the pipe or the local deformation of the pipe, and miss the strong signal that can be received the installation point.
5. For metal pipes with serious scaling on the inner wall, the scaling method can be used to make the scaling part fall off or crack, but it should be noted that this method sometimes does not help the transmission of ultrasonic waves at all because of the gap between the scaling and the inner wall.
