The Key Role And Application Of Radar Level Meter in Sedimentation Tank Medium Measurement
Jul 18, 2024| There are two main methods for alumina production process: Bayer process and sintering process. In the Bayer process of alumina production, the sedimentation tank is one of the key equipment used to process the reaction products. In recent years, many alumina production companies have begun to use sedimentation tank radar level meter to measure the liquid level of the sedimentation tank to improve measurement accuracy and operation efficiency.

When selecting a sedimentation tank radar level meter, special attention should be paid to several key factors. The first is the accuracy requirement. Especially for large tanks with a diameter of about 40 meters, accurate liquid level measurement is crucial to ensure process technical indicators, so a high-precision radar level meter must be selected.
Secondly, since the medium in the sedimentation tank is highly corrosive, the selected sedimentation tank radar level meter must have excellent corrosion resistance. In addition, the working conditions in the tank, such as high temperature environment and possible scarring, should also be considered. For high temperature environments (over 130°C), a dedicated high-temperature radar level meter should be selected; for environments below 130°C, a standard radar level meter can be used.
In addition, since the scarring problem will affect the accuracy of the sedimentation tank level measurement, choosing the right antenna is also a crucial step. Avoid choosing a horn antenna that is prone to scarring. Even if you choose other types of antennas, you must clean them regularly to ensure the stability and accuracy of the measurement.
In alumina production, different tanks (such as seed tanks, decomposition tanks, etc.) have different working conditions. Therefore, when selecting a radar level meter, it is necessary to carefully analyze the specific requirements of each working condition, especially factors such as the temperature in the tank, whether there are obstacles, and the liquid level, to ensure that the selected equipment can effectively cope with various challenges.
