Selection Of Level Meters in Thermal Power Plants
Nov 08, 2023| Thermal power plants are factories that use combustible materials (such as coal, natural gas, and oil) as fuel to produce electrical energy. In some countries, coal-fired power generation is the dominant form of electricity generation. In thermal power plants, material level measurement mainly focuses on the material (liquid) level measurement of media such as pulverized coal, limestone, coal ash, limestone, various water and oil. In order to achieve accurate measurement, Power plant radar level meter is often used for measurement.

1: For level measurement of solid powders in pulverized coal silos, ash silos, etc., we usually use Universal radar level gauge. This kind of radar level gauge uses electromagnetic waves to measure, has strong anti-dust interference and water vapor condensation capabilities, and can achieve large-range measurements. Therefore, Gray warehouse radar level meter is often used for level measurement in gray warehouses.
2: For liquid level measurement of liquid media that is easily volatile and easily diffused, Power plant radar level meter is also an option. Radar level meters use electromagnetic waves to measure and can penetrate fog and foam without interference. In addition, if the measured medium is corrosive, we can choose the SLDL5100 series radar level meter to meet the liquid level measurement needs in this environment.
3: For liquid level measurement of high temperature and high pressure with water vapor such as drum water and high pressure heater, we can choose Guided wave type radar level meter. Guided wave radar level meters are commonly used in the SLDL5500 series, and their antennas are metal rods (cables). Since the drum water and high-pressure heater have short ranges and are characterized by severe boiling steam, high temperature and high pressure, the medium water is softened water and does not have problems such as corrosion. Therefore, it is best to choose a guided wave radar level meter for contact measurement. A reliable choice.
4: For liquid level measurement in vacuum environments such as condensers, since electromagnetic waves can be transmitted in vacuum, we can also use radar level meters to measure object (liquid) level. This option ensures accurate level measurement in vacuum environments.
