Radar Type Level Gauge Engineering Design Selection Considering Comprehensive Factors
Oct 23, 2023| Radar type level gauge engineering design selection: combined with on-site working conditions and comprehensive consideration of many factors.

When conducting engineering design and selection of radar level gauges, it is necessary to comprehensively consider the on-site working conditions and make the main basis based on the following requirements:
1. Accuracy requirements: For process-level buffer tanks or process tanks, a High frequency radar level gauge with an accuracy of about ±3mm can be selected. As for the tanks used for custody transfer, it is a trade-grade precision product, and a Radar level gauge manufacturer product with a higher precision level needs to be selected.
2. Antenna type selection: Antenna selection is crucial. Common types of Radar type level gauge include parabolic, planar, rod and horn types.
•Parabolic antenna is suitable for in-tank measurements.
•Planar antenna is suitable for measurement inside the pilot tube.
•Rod antenna can be used for high-precision measurements in highly corrosive media and pipes with narrow installation spaces.
•Horn antenna is suitable for use inside tanks, where parabolic antennas cannot be used due to the geometric limitations of the tank and installation short pipe.
3. Antenna size selection: After determining the radar level gauge antenna type, it is also necessary to reasonably select the appropriate Radar level gauge installation antenna size. For this reason, when choosing a radar level gauge, you can refer to the product information provided by the Radar level gauge manufacturer brand you choose, and rationally select the antenna size according to the height of the tank to be measured.
4. Explosion-proof requirements: If there are explosion-proof requirements, explosion-proof or intrinsically safe Radar type level gauge must be selected.
5. Consideration of corrosion resistance and high temperature resistance: When there is a highly corrosive and high temperature environment in the tank, the corrosion resistance and high temperature resistance of the High frequency radar level gauge also need to be considered.
