Radar tank level indicator is a very practical measuring instrument. For the installation position of the radar level meter, it is usually at 1/4 or 1/6 of the diameter of the tank. However, we also need to accurately install it according to the shape of different storage tanks to ensure the accuracy of the measurement data. Among them, the installation position of conical tanks and circular arched tanks is very different.
For conical tanks, the installation position of the radar tank level indicator should be in the center of the tank top plane, so as to ensure that the radar measuring instrument can accurately measure the height of the material in the tank, especially when the measured medium is a solid material pile, it is necessary to ensure that the antenna can be vertically aligned with the material surface to avoid echo attenuation or signal loss due to the tilt of the material surface. For conical tanks with large stacking angles, a universal flange is required to adjust the horn angle to ensure that the horn is aligned with the material surface as much as possible to ensure the accuracy of the measurement.
For circular and arched tanks, the radar tank level indicator cannot be installed in the center of the tank top. Because this will produce indirect echoes and will also be affected by multiple echoes. The interference of multiple echoes may be greater than the signal threshold of the real echo, thus affecting the accuracy of the entire measurement data. Therefore, in round and arched tanks, we need to choose a suitable installation location for the radar level meter to avoid echo interference as much as possible to ensure the accuracy of the measurement.
In addition, in the case of obstacles in the tank, we also need to install reflectors to enhance the reflection of the radar signal to ensure the true reliability of the measurement data. In short, when installing the radar tank level indicator, we need to choose a suitable installation location according to the shape and actual situation of different storage tanks, and add necessary auxiliary devices such as reflectors to ensure that the measurement data is accurate and reliable, providing strong support for production and logistics management.
