Pulse Millimeter Wave Radar Technology Helps Improve The Accuracy Of Pharmaceutical Liquid Level Measurement

Jun 06, 2024|

In the current pharmaceutical industry, the accurate measurement of liquid medicine occupies a major and vital position. The quality of liquid medicine is directly related to the accuracy of liquid level measurement, and the applicability of the measuring equipment directly affects the accuracy of drug composition and content.

It is reported that in the past, the pharmaceutical industry mainly used two methods of liquid medicine measurement: manual measurement method and instrument measurement method.

The manual measurement method mainly includes the indicator scale method, the glass plate method, the two-color water level meter method and the manual ruler method. The advantages of this measurement method are that it is highly reliable, low cost and easy to operate. But its disadvantages are also obvious. It requires personnel to monitor around the clock, and can only be observed in real time, and data cannot be transmitted. Therefore, with the emergence of measuring instruments, this measurement method will inevitably gradually withdraw from the stage of history.

The instrument measurement methods mainly include the float method, the capacitance method and the ultrasonic method. The advantage of the float method is its high accuracy, but due to the particularity of liquids in the pharmaceutical industry, the sensor element of the float method is prone to corrosion and aging, and after a period of time, the data may be inaccurate or unable to be displayed. The capacitance method is suitable for high temperature and high pressure working conditions, but the accuracy is poor and the later maintenance work is heavy. The ultrasonic method is relatively mature in the pharmaceutical industry, but it is affected by factors such as medium temperature, pressure, and concentration, which affects the measurement accuracy.

Pulse millimeter wave radar liquid medicine measurement

In order to accurately measure the liquid level of the medicine and avoid the disadvantages of the above instruments, the pulse radar level meter is undoubtedly a good choice.

The pulse radar level meter uses non-contact radar technology to avoid the contamination of the medicine. Millimeter wave radar technology achieves high accuracy in liquid measurement and reduces the measurement blind area. The smaller antenna size is almost unaffected by corrosion, and slight foam will not affect it; it is also unaffected by water vapor, temperature and pressure in the atmosphere.

In short, judging from the advantages and disadvantages of the instruments used in history and the working conditions, the pulse millimeter wave radar level meter is fully suitable for liquid level measurement in the pharmaceutical industry. It's just that which model to use requires professionals to further consider according to the actual situation.
