Mastering The Installation Techniques Of Radar Level Gauges To Enhance Maintenance Efficiency

Sep 20, 2024|

Many companies encounter various installation-related issues when using radar level gauges for liquid level measurement. To help address these problems, here are some tips on radar level gauge installation that may be useful.

Radar level meter installation and maintenance

1.The selected location for the radar level gauge should facilitate wiring and disassembly. Whether using a two-wire or four-wire power connection, careful wiring is essential. Regular maintenance of the radar level gauge is also crucial; choosing a location that allows for easy disassembly can significantly improve efficiency.

2.When installing the radar level gauge, the cable entry should face downward to prevent moisture ingress. Radar level gauges are often installed outdoors or in humid environments, where rain or condensation can damage cables. Installing the cable entry facing down allows water droplets to slide off directly without entering the device.

3.There should be a certain distance, typically greater than 50mm, between the radar level gauge's antenna and the medium. The characteristics of different media, such as corrosiveness or viscosity, can affect radar level measurements. Therefore, ensure sufficient distance between the medium and the instrument during installation.

4.For radar level gauges on low-pressure vessels, if a threaded connection is used, add sealing to ensure safety during the connection process.

Most people know that radar level gauges should not be installed in central positions and should be kept away from obstacles and feed points, but may be less familiar with the four installation tips mentioned above. I hope these tips help when needed, and I encourage everyone to study related materials to master more radar level gauge installation techniques.
