Four Key Points To Improve The Maintenance Efficiency Of Radar Level Gauges in Tank Areas
Aug 14, 2024| The difference between the tank body and the tank area is obvious. On a single tank body, a radar level gauge is usually equipped, and the maintenance is relatively simple, and only that one device needs to be maintained. However, there are many storage tanks in the tank area, and there are also many radar level gauges. The lack of a unified maintenance process may lead to low work efficiency and even miss key steps. To this end, the editor has sorted out the maintenance points of radar level gauges in the tank area of the refinery, hoping to provide reference for relevant personnel and optimize the maintenance process.

1. Check the operating temperature of the radar level gauge to ensure its normal operation. Radar level gauge manufacturers on the market have temperature limits, and exceeding this temperature may damage the radar head. During maintenance, pay attention to monitoring the temperature, and use special equipment to cool down when necessary, but never use water for cooling.
2. Check the status of the power supply system. Power supply problems will not only affect the radar level gauge in the tank area, but may also cause damage to other electronic equipment. Therefore, when inspecting the radar level meter, be sure to check the power supply system to ensure that it is stable and reliable.
3. Check whether the antenna has attachments. Slight attachments have little effect on radar waves, but large amounts of attachments will interfere with the transmission and reception of radar waves. When inspecting the radar level meter, carefully check the antenna and wipe it gently when necessary to avoid damaging or bending the antenna.
4. Check the output of the instrument. If the output value is abnormal or continues to be near the maximum value, it may indicate that the radar level meter is faulty. When inspecting the radar level meter, the instrument output must be checked to ensure that the equipment is working properly.
Whether it is a radar level meter or other automation equipment, daily maintenance is to reduce the occurrence of problems or detect problems as early as possible, ensure stable operation of the equipment, and improve production efficiency.
