Nov 26, 2014: EAC - CUSTOMS UNION DECLARATION OF CONFORMITY

Solid Applied Technology level sensors have been awarded certification for conformity to the legal requirements of the Russian custom authorities. SolidAT sensors can be imported into Russia and regional country parties participating in the EAC initiative. The sensors can further bid in Governmental contracts.

Sep 28, 2014: REMOTE MONITORING of the GALILEE STREAM LAND

Fielded water level measurement stations, based on GaugerGSM sensor, report real time stream levels and flow. Stations are located across a stream-rich region of the upper Galilee feeding the Jordan river in the northern part of Israel. The region is a popular tourist destination due to its biblical origins, rich flora and fauna. Field data is available over the Internet to authorized engineers, site supervisors and Government officials.

Fielded stations are autonomic systems, located along tourist routes, unattended and susceptible to harsh weather conditions and vandalism. As such a tightly confined protected solution is required. Conversely, the ultrasonic level sensor must be exposed to flowing waters, must allow wireless communications and should enable battery pack replacement all at reasonable costs.

Mar 7, 2014: GAUGERNET - MODBUS-TCP INTERFACE

Modbus-TCP option for GaugerNET provides a convenient scheme for obtaining data from fielded GaugerGSM sensors. This option is available for any SCADA or monitoring software supporting Modbus-TCP. In terms of the Modbus community, GaugerNET implements a Modbus Gateway funtionality. The use of Modbus-TCP interface to GaugerNET is an alternative to direct reading of GaugerGSM sensors. Direct sensor reading is more efficient than the indirect route through GaugerNET but involves software development efforts. GaugerNET Modbus-TCP supports one "write-registers" command and one "read-registers" command. The read command is aimed to a unit ID which is mapped to GaugerGSM sensor name. GaugerNET also supports standard legal responses as well as responses to illegal commands.

Jan 13, 2014: GAUGERGSM - ROBUST SPLIT DESIGN

GaugerGSM is now available in a robust split configuration. This configuration is especially designed for underground sewer installations and similar harsh environments.
Components of the split design:

  • Control unit - Including electronics and power supply pack
  • Sensor unit - Cabled with a 5 meter cable to the control unit

Both units are tightly sealed to IP68 sealing rate and keep the sealing even in tough conditions of target flow, chemicals and gasses. The sensor unit is fully PVDF encased withstanding aggressive chemicals as may be present in sewage applications. The control unit may be installed just below the sewer manhole, allowing battery replacement without entry into the sewer. The sensor unit is installed directly above the sewer pipe.

Dec 4, 2013: GAUGER SYSTEMS: UPDATED CE-EMC and FCC NEW CERTIFICATIONS

Gauger systems have been awarded new CE-EMC and FCC certifications by ISS The Standard Institution of Israel. Tests were thorough, comprehensive and included all of the following:

  • All Gauger level sensor models: Gauger420, GaugerGSM, Gauger485 and GaugerGPS.
  • Interface options: RS485, USB, relays, IO ports.
  • Level sensor frequency options: 50KHz and 75KHz.
  • Power supply options: 8-33VDC as applicable.
  • Accessories including Programmable Timer Switch (PTS) and battery enclosures.

Tests included emissions from the systems (conductive and radiated) and immunity tests. Tests were performed according to the applicable EN and FCC up-to-date requirements. Nov 6, 2013: REMOTE LEVEL MONITORING OF DEEP RIVERS

Remote River Monitoring with SmartScan25 - SolidAT solution for Remote River Level Monitoring is now enhanced with the introduction of GaugerTX. Until recently, GaugerGSM sensors were deployed, allowing measurements of river depth ranges up to 9.5 meters (31'). GaugerGSM are ultrasonic level sensors compactly integrated with GSM communications. GaugerGSM, together with GaugerNET, a web-based monitoring application, form a complete monitoring solution. For larger river depth ranges up to 40 meters (130'), SmartScan25 can now be deployed together with GaugerTX. SmartScan25 is a two-part ultrasonic level sensor supporting long range measurements. GaugerTX is a GPRS/GSM modem linked to SmartScan25 and communicating with GaugerNET, the web-based monitoring application. Oct 15, 2013: WIRELESS CONTROL OF GAUGERGSM LEVEL SENSOR

GaugerGSM is a SolidAT level sensor for remote level monitoring applications. The sensor is installed in large quantities at remote locations. Some of the locations are spread country-wide, such as when monitoring diesel tanks. Some of the locations are hard-to-reach such as underground sewers. To reduce the setup burden and allow simple tuning of the Gauger configuration, SolidAT recently released a beta version of a new sensor firmware. This firmware provides for remote configuration of the sensor by means of transmitting SMS messages. This scheme, greatly reduces the costs involved in sending a technician to the field. The wireless configuration was tested successfully with underground sewers and above ground applications. This is another advanced feature of GaugerGSM, the product of choice for remote level monitoring of underground sewers, water reservoirs and rivers, diesel tanks and silo farms. Aug 21, 2013: NEW SEWER LEVEL SENSOR ARCHITECTURE

Installation of level sensors in underground sewers is a unique and challenging engineering task. Chemicals with the sewage can attack the sensor and the sensor may be completely immersed within the sewage during overflow events. The sensor is not only required to be seal rated IP68, but also to withstand mechanical and physical disturbances from the flowing solids within the sewage. Other challenges stem from the narrow and limited space underneath the manhole. Maintenance personnel should be able to go underneath the manhole with minimal interference to the level sensor operations. The sensor itself should be installed low enough to sense low levels and flows while allowing maintenance teams to replace batteries without disassembling the complete system. To respond to these challenges , SolidAT has developed a new installation architecture for sewer sensors. With this architecture, a minimal number of system components need to be handled. The integrity and sealing of the solution is enhanced and the sensor, cabled to a control unit, can be installed at the most proper location. Read more about SolidAT sewer level sensor HERE.

Apr 23, 2013: SOLIDAT PARTICIPATES in SU ARNASY EXHIBITION

Solidat Applied Technologies participates in the International exhibition and conference Su Arnasy "Water Consumption: Reality, Problems and Prospects" that will take place at Astana, Republic of Kazakhstan, on May 15-17, 2013. The event focuses on water supply, sewage treatment and processing, including equipment for use in sewerage systems. SolidAT representative will lecture on the new GaugerGSM systems for remote monitoring of sewage flowing in underground sewers. Monitoring sewage levels reduces maintenance costs, prevents environmental disasters, properly responds to regulatory requirements and allows quantization of sewage flows for costing purposes. Jan 30, 2013: FLOW TOTALIZATION in GAUGER SENSORS

Gauger level sensors are applied in Open Channel Flow (OCF) applications for measuring flow in Flume and Weir structures. Gauger sensors can also be applied to the measurement of flow in open pipes based on Manning Formula. An important new feature is now implemented in Gauger sensors: Flow Totalization. With this new feature, users can obtain both instantaneous flow and accumulated flow over time (Totalization). Users can accumulate data for long periods of time in terms of cubic meters, cubic feet, Liters or Gallons. Totalization is important for quantification of sewage flow. This information is important for manufacturing plants, for service utilities and for the regulators. Service utilities can now bill their customers based on actual sewage flow rather than the round-a-bout way based on water usage. Regulators can check and control sewage flow in restricted areas such as nearby a sea or lake. Gauger models come in three flavors: Gauger420 with analog 4-20mA output, Gauger485 with digital RS485 output and GaugerGSM with wireless cellular output. Jan 13, 2013: GaugerM2M - A SIMPLE TELEMETRY SOLUTION

GaugerM2M is a cost effective solution for simple telemetry applications. GaugerM2M supports 1-3 inputs (short/open) and RS485 digital input. Information from GaugerM2M is transmitted over a GSM network to a web-based application, GaugerNET. Data from fielded GaugerM2M systems can be viewed by authorized users implementing standard web browsers. No application is required to be installed. GaugerM2M is an excellent solution for rapid deployment in applications where counter pulses are counted. Examples include water meters and flow meters. Temperature infomation may also be measured and available as telemetry information. GaugerM2M is simple to install, set, program and operate.

Nov 24, 2012: Gauger420 - CERTIFIED FOR USE IN EXPLOSIVE ATMOSPHERES

Gauger420 is now certified for use in explosive atmospheres. The sensor is certified by SIRA of the UK to both ATEX (EU) and IECEx (International) standards. The systems is certified to Ex II 1G Ex ia IIB T4 GA (Ta = -30 to +70 deg. C). Certifications can be viewed here. Gauger420 is a rich featured level sensor for the most demanding applications. The system can operate in aggressive materials and rapidly changing target levels. In addition to 4-20 mA output, the system supports USB and RS485. A large graphic display enhances the performance of Gauger420. Sophisticated firmware adds Open Channel Flow (OCF) and Tank Volume measurement capabilities to Gauger420. Nov 21, 2012: 32 POINT STRAPPING TABLES SUPPORTED IN GAUGER SYSTEMS

A 32-point mapping table is now supported by Gauger system. The mapping table maps between level and flow allowing accurate flow measurement in complex flume/weir structures or open pipes. The user initially enters the mapping table point-by-point and the Gauger firmware interpolates proper flow from the measured level. Entry of points is conveniently performed with a PC or laptop and no special tools are required. The use of 32 points ensures high degree of accuarcy. Any type of units may be used as long as the table correctly maps level to flow.

Oct 1, 2012: LIQUID LEVEL CONTROL and REMOTE MONITORING

Liquid Level control and remote monitoring is now enabled with SolidAT wireless level sensor. The sensor, GaugerGSM, controls a local pump and transmits level information over the cellular network to an Internet web server. Control is executed locally, thereby increasing solution reliability. GaugerGSM reduces the need for manual inspection and human intervention. GaugerGSM is an ultrasonic non-contact level sensor integrated with wireless cellular modem. The sensor measures liquid levels up to a range up to 9.5 meters (31') and is set to turn a pump ON/OFF at predefined levels. Technicians can remotely view level status from each site where a GaugerGSM is installed. Inspection and monitoring of each site is conveniently performed at the office using any standard web browser. Data from each site is also logged and stored on a server so that engineers and supervisors can check and analyze historical trends as well as present up-to-the-minute state. The solution is completely automated and does not require manual involvement. The solution supports many sites each at a different geographical location. Technicians do not need to travel to each individual site so both time and money is saved.

July 7, 2012: LIQUID LEVEL CONTROL and REMOTE MONITORING

June 11, 2012: GaugerNET NOW SUPPORTS MAPPING AND MAIL ALERTS

GaugerNET is a new web-based level monitoring solution offered by SolidAT for use with GaugerGSM wireless level meters. GaugerNET server presents fielded sensor data in graphic, table and now also in a map view. In map view, users can select to view a location of a specific site or view the locations of all sites on the map. By clicking on the marker of each site, the user can view the most recent information which was sent by the Gauger system. This information includes level, volume, temperature, power supply state and GSM signal strength. Maps can be viewed with any standard browser and no software installation is required. E-mail alerts are now also supported by GaugerNET. The users can define which of the sites are important enough to evoke alerts. The alerts are defined for specific events. For example, the person in charge of diesel tank inventory can receive a mail alert when any of the monitored tanks approach empty level. As another example, a city officer may receive mail alert when sewer overflow is detected at in an important district. Fielded GaugerGSM sensors can be configured to low cost GPRS communications or to SMS based messages. With the GPRS method, GaugerGSM transmits data directly to GaugerNET. With SMS, messages are transmitted to a local gateway PC which forwards SMS to GaugerNET.

May 25, 2012: WEB BASED LEVEL MONITORING SOLUTION

A new web monitoring server (GaugerNET) is now offered by SolidAT. The server presents fielded sensor data in graphic and table views. Users can select any specific site or view aggregate data from all project sites. Data can be viewed with any standard browser and no software installation is required. One typical application is the management of remote diesel tanks. At each remote site, a level sensor is installed and data is transmitted over the cellular network to a web monitoring server. Users can view tank information such as level, quantity, temperature, refill process or sudden drop in level. Project information such as overall diesel inventory can be viewed at any time. Updated last message status is also presented, allowing quick check if all sites are on-line. Other application for the GaugerNET are sewer meters installed across the city and flood monitoring based on sensors installed along rivers and water reservoirs. GaugerNET together with GaugerGSM sensors form a complete, simple and cost effective solution for remote level monitoring applications. Fielded GaugerGSM sensors can be configured to low cost GPRS communications or to SMS based messages. With the GPRS method, GaugerGSM transmits data directly to GaugerNET. March 31, 2012: IFSEC West Africa Exhibition

Feb 1, 2012: SolidAT Plant - Approved for ATEX and IECEx 2012

Solidat Applied Technologies (SolidAT) plant has been approved by SIRA (UK leading qualifying rganization) for ATEX and IECEx. This assessment qualifies SolidAT plants to manufacture products which are intended for use in explosive atmospheres. The approval is in-effect all through year 2012. The report from SIRA summarizes that "SolidAT Good understanding and commitment continues...The controls in place appear to be effective and no significant areas of concern were identified."

Jan 1, 2012: SolidAT Participates in Tech Exhibition Mahatech 2011 / Pune India

Solidat Applied Technologies participated at the exhibition of technology in Mahatech 2011 / Pune India (http://www.maha-tech.com/). Mahatech is a leading exhibition process industry equipment, engineering and machinery tools, electrical instrumentation and IT services. On display were SolidAT sensors and transmitters including SMARTSCAN line and MONOSCAN line. Also exposed was the new GAUGERGSM leading product for remote level monitoring.
